Colts Liked in Strengthening AFC South in NFL Preseason Probabilities

Posted 28 Jul 2010 — by admin
Category Regular Season

NFL preseason odds may indeed favor the Indianapolis Colts to repeat as AFC South Division victors nevertheless they may confront a stern challenge from their football wagering rivals.

NFL preseason odds bettors may also give consideration to Houston, Tennessee, as well as even Jacksonville as prospective football wagering values that surpass the Indianapolis Colts.

While the Indianapolis Colts did win the AFC South with a 14-2 straight up record it was far from a perfect season. In reality the Indianapolis Colts had a shot at a perfect season with a 14-0 start; yet coach Jim Caldwell blew the 15th competition of the year to protect players for the playoffs and the Indianapolis Colts never really appeared the same in the game or with their fans after that.

Indianapolis did cover the spread 10 times and had 1 of the leading passing attacks in the NFL with 4-time NFL MVP Peyton Manning. The running game was weak, nonetheless, and the defense was inconsistent, and those elements along with a less than outstanding Manning performance cost the Indianapolis Colts in the Super Bowl.

Due to Manning, they’re still a risk to win any time they take the field, even though they’re an aging team.

The Tennessee Titans were the top seed in the AFC in 2008 and rebounded nicely following a 0-6 start last year to finish 8-8 as Vince Young took over the reins at quarterback to stir up the attack.

The Titans did have the NFL offensive competitor of the year in 2000 yard runner Chris Johnson, though they will still need improvement from their defense that declined last year. The Titans might look like a stock that was one time really valued only to plummet lower than what was in fact earned and might bring enhanced value with the football odds in 2010.

The Houston Texans were hoping to make their first ever playoff bid last year but stumbled from the gate and had to rally to finish 9-7 straight up while covering just 7 matches.

Despite not reaching the post season it was still a pretty productive year for the franchise as quarterback Matt Schaub emerged to a near elite level and will be important to Houston breaking through the gates into the playoffs. Schaub was a third round pick in the 2004 NFL Draft. He has been the starter for Houston just about since he joined the team in 2007, though he had to sit out several matches because of injuries. Last season he headed the league in passing yards with 4770, completions with 396, yards per game with 298, and passing attempts with 583. He also ended fifth in touchdowns with a total of 29. Last year has been known as Schaub’s break out season as quarterback.

The young but strengthening Jacksonville Jaguars might not be a fave with the NFL preseason odds nevertheless they were in playoff position last year with just 1 month to go before fading badly to finish 7-9. If the offense can develop balance and consistency, Jacksonville may be a team that surprises fans and handicappers.

Cowboys Favored to Ride to Top in NFL Preseason Odds

Posted 28 Jul 2010 — by admin
Category Regular Season

The Giants may prove to be a risky football wagering foe, though NFL preseason probabilities have the Cowboys as the team to beat in the NFC East Division race.

NFL preseason probabilities have the Washington Redskins as a longshot in the division while the Philadelphia Eagles are something of a football wagering enigma.

The Cowboys look to be peaking at the perfect time as they ended effective in 2009 to complete 11-5 straight up and 9-7 against the spread and won a playoff game at Cowboys Stadium against the Philadelphia Eagles before being blown from the post season at Minnesota.

Dallas has developed a well balanced team as head coach Wade Phillips has taken a more active role with the greater and more ambitious defense while Tony Romo is hitting his prime as a quarterback. Romo replaced Drew Bledsoe as the Cowboys’ starting quarterback during a competition against the giants in the 2006 season. He has been selected to the Pro Bowl three times and possesses a career passing rate of 95.6, which ranks the 3rd greatest in history in the league. In the course of a November 2006 competition, he threw 5 touchdown passes in a game, and that’s a history he shares with Troy Aikman, but trumps Troy Aikman’s history in games with 300+ yards passing (24 versus Aikman’s 13). Dallas is competing with more maturity and is a solid choice to win the NFC East, at the very least.

Since their epic Super Bowl win over New England in February of 2008, the giants have had quite a fall, but they may be a team that is underrated coming into the year. The Giants covered just 6 matches against the spread and ended just 8-8 straight up in 2009.

Head coach Tom Coughlin had to change coordinators and progress is anticipated, the defense was so poor. Eli Manning is a fantastic quarterback but too much demand was placed on him a year ago. If the Giants can better diversify the offense and tighten up the defense they could be a valuable commodity with the football probabilities in 2010.

The Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Redskins are associated by a lot more than their division this season as long-term Eagle quarterback Donovan McNabb is now a Redskin.

Prior to their playoff debacle in Dallas, Philadelphia ended 11-5 straight up and 9-7 against the spread while Washington hit rock bottom at 4-12 straight up and 6-8-2 against the spread.

Mike Shanahan returns to coaching after a year off to lead the Redskins after a very successful run at Denver. Nonetheless the Redskins still have the concern of having to re-tool in too many spots, which is why they are a post season longshot with the NFL preseason probabilities. Owner Dan Snyder’s meddling is yet another chronic issue.

Coach Andy Reid commands value in Philadelphia however the Eagles crash and burn finish and new quarterback do not inspire confidence with gamblers.

Probabilities For Dolphins in NFL Preseason

Posted 22 Jul 2010 — by admin
Category Regular Season

In NFL betting probabilities at the sportsbooks online, the Dolphins are 1 of the dark horse candidates to win the Super Bowl.

They are 23.5 to 1 in Super Bowl probabilities and they’re 4-1 to win a challenging AFC East. The Miami Dolphins open up the preseason as NFL preseason betting faves at home on August 14th versus the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

NFL preseason probabilities will probably show Miami as underdogs in Week 2 vs Jacksonville while they should be liked in Week 3 at home vs Atlanta. They will likely be road underdogs in their final preseason competition, which is at Dallas.

The Dolphins surprised everyone 2 years ago in NFL preseason probabilities but last year they slipped back. Miami could rebound this season in the AFC East since they still have plenty of skill. It isn’t an effortless division though with New York and New England. The Miami Dolphins win by running the ball and halting the run. This year they obtained top wide receiver Brandon Marshall from Denver so they will look to throw it a bit more.

Marshall, also known as “The Beast”, is infamous for being 1 of the toughest competitors in the NFL to take down. His capability to break and dodge tackles has made him popular. Actually, it’s been stated by Kansas City’s Brandon Flowers that Marshall wants to be tackled so he can simply push off the other competitor and get more yards. He’s caught at least 100 passes in three sequential seasons, which makes him 1 of only 5 competitors in NFL history to do so. He’s also been part of a string of run-ins with the law, which includes assaulting a police officer, domestic violence, driving under the influence and misdemeanor battery. He was dealt to the Miami Dolphins in return for a 2nd round pick in the 2010 NFL Draft and a 2nd round pick in the 2011 NFL Draft.

If quarterback Chad Henne continues to improve then the Miami offense could be potent. The Dolphins have a pretty good running back combination in Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams.

The defense has been turned over to Mike Nolan who comes over from Denver. He will try to make Miami more of an attacking defense.

Miami has a few exceptional linebackers in Channing Crowder and newcomer Karlos Dansby who they received from Arizona. Will Allen, Vontae Davis and Yeremiah Bell make up their reliable secondary. Dan Carpenter, who missed only three field goals all season, is an outstanding kicker for the Miami Dolphins.

The Dolphins are pretty capable of winning the AFC East even though the Jets and Patriots will get more interest in NFL preseason betting. Surviving the early part of the season will be the essential for Miami in 2010. They have a pretty challenging slate. They simply must win their starter at Buffalo. After that competition they go to Minnesota and then host the Jets and Patriots. They go to Green Bay after a bye week, host the Steelers and then travel to Cincinnati and Baltimore. There’s no effortless game in the 1st half of the season for the Miami Dolphins other than the opening game at Buffalo.

Colts NFL Preseason Wagering

Posted 22 Jul 2010 — by admin
Category Regular Season

The Colts did it all last season in football betting at the online sportsbook with the exception of winning a Super Bowl and they begin 2010 as the 7.5 to 1 fave in NFL preseason gambling to win this season’s huge game.

The Indianapolis Colts are heavily favored in NFL preseason probabilities to win the AFC South as they are showed at -200.

The Indianapolis Colts host the San Francisco 49ers on August 15th, kicking off NFL preseason gambling on the team. The Colts then travel to Toronto for their second preseason game vs Buffalo. They’ll be on ESPN in their 3rd game at Green Bay while they finish up the preseason at home vs Cincinnati on September second.

Peyton Manning, the top quarterback in the game, leads the Indianapolis Colts. He might go down as the greatest quarterback in NFL history. He is the only player in NFL history to be a 4 time MVP. Manning has only 1 Super Bowl championship but the Indianapolis Colts are favored to win another 1 this season. With over 4,000 yards passing and most total seasons with 4,000 or more yards passing in a career, Manning holds NFL records for sequential seasons. He increases the positive exposure the Indianapolis Colts receive in the media, since he’s a very marketable player outside of football also.

Indianapolis returns almost everybody from last season. The Colts might have gone undefeated last season but they decided not to play for an ideal season. They easily might have won the Super Bowl also but things didn’t go their way vs the Saints.

As good as the Indianapolis Colts were last season it’s feasible they might be better in 2010. The Indianapolis Colts didn’t have Bob Sanders for a lot of the season and when he plays, they are a greater defensive team. The Colts also added Jerry Hughes in the draft and he might give them another pass rushing risk. Hughes was a number 31 pick in this season’s draft. He’s won numerous awards and honors including the Ted Hendricks Award and the Lott Trophy, and he has been named to the first-team of the All-America team in both 2008 and 2009. In the same 2 years, he was also named the MWC Defensive Player of the Year.

The offensive line looks to be the Indianapolis Colts only issue. Jeff Saturday is a great center but numerous the other positions are in question. The Colts have a solid running game with Joseph Addai and Donald Brown and a wealth of receiving expertise with Reggie Wayne, Dallas Clark, Pierre Garcon, Anthony Gonzalez and Austin Collie.

The defense did enough to win last season but they genuinely missed Sanders. When he plays they are a top 5 defense but when he does not they are only average. The AFC South isn’t that powerful so the Indianapolis Colts should have little difficulty in winning another championship but it’s a Super Bowl championship that they genuinely want in 2010 and they are the fave in NFL preseason probabilities at 7.5 to 1.

Probabilities For Bills in NFL Preseason

Posted 22 Jul 2010 — by admin
Category Regular Season

Usually when you consider NFL preseason probabilities it is possible to at least make some sort of an optimistic case for every squad when you bet on football.

With the Bills, that is actually tough to do. They are 125-1 in the NFL betting at SBG to win the Super Bowl and they are given no real chance of winning the AFC East at probabilities of 30-1.

In all four of their preseason matches, NFL preseason probabilities could have the Buffalo Bills as longshots. In their starter at Washington, they will unquestionably be longshots. In their 2nd match against Indianapolis, which will be played in Toronto, they will most likely be longshots. In Week 3 they host the Bengals and they ought to be longshots again in spite of the fact that they are at home. They’re even going to be gaining points in NFL preseason betting against the Detroit Lions on the road.

The Bills have skipped the playoffs the past 10 years and they are likely to miss out again in 2010. The Buffalo Bills have plenty of difficulties on either side of the ball and on the side lines. Chan Gailey was recently chosen by the squad as their head coach but he’s not a great NFL head coach. He can be a great offensive coach and he will need to be with this squad. Gailey has been the head coach of the dallas cowboys, and had formerly served as offensive coordinator for the Miami Dolphins. He was offensive coordinator in 1997 when Pittsburgh ranked sixth in the NFL in total offense and seventh in scoring. Gailey also served as the offensive coordinator for the Kansas City Chiefs in 2008 and 3 matches of the 2009 pre-season. The Chiefs offense was at the bottom of the league in almost every category the season previous to the one when he took over. After 3 pre-season matches in 2009 he was demoted and relieved of duty by the head coach. In January of this year, he took the job with the Buffalo Bills.

The Buffalo Bills do not have a quality starting quarterback, very little receiving skill and a questionable running game. Between Trent Edwards, Ryan Fitzpatrick and Brian Brohm, the Buffalo Bills will attempt to find a starting quarterback. Wish them luck. At least the Buffalo Bills have Fred Jackson who rushed for more than 1,000 yards last season. They also got C.J. Spiller in the 1st round of the NFL Draft and he should help. Lee Evans is their only respectable receiver. The offensive line is not very excellent and no off-season improvements were made.

The defense has a few players that are gifted directed by linebacker Paul Posluszny who had over one hundred tackles last season. Aaron Schobel has skill but he’s seldom motivated to play. The secondary is the one plus side for Buffalo as they’ve got Jairus Byrd who got even for the NFL lead in interceptions with nine. The Bills intercepted 28 passes, 2nd most in the league. There are in fact a couple more bright spots for Buffalo in NFL preseason odds as kicker Rian Lindell is among the league’s greatest and punter Brian Moorman is exceptional.

Dallas Cowboys Upgrade Roster for 2010 in NFL Preseason Odds

Posted 17 Jul 2010 — by admin
Category Regular Season

NFL preseason probabilities and NFL lines betting will again showcase the Dallas Cowboys as one of the most popular options with the NFL wagering public to go all the way in the 2010 season.

NFL odds handicappers will be happy with a Dallas team that is constantly in NFL wagering contention for the post season and with their overhauled roster.

Dallas concluded on top of the NFC East Division last year with a history of 11-5 straight up and 9-7 vs the spread. The Cowboys beat their hated arch foes in the East, the Philadelphia Eagles, in the beginning round of the NFC playoffs before losing at Minnesota in the next round.

In 2 out of the last 3 seasons, Dallas has won the division championship. With Super Bowl XLV being held at Cowboys Stadium, also referred to as “Jerry’s World” in reference to owner Jerry Jones, there is plenty of added incentive for Dallas to win this year. Dallas is looking to be the first ever team to host a Super Bowl.

Even with his several detractors, Jones has always been known as a visionary, and he surely wants to have his team in his world come Super Sunday. The team has already been addressed by past famous Cowboy stars Roger Staubach and Charles Haley about the great possibilities and about what lies ahead in 2010.

Tony Romo will return at quarterback and the 30-year-old signal caller will bring a more mature view to go with his significant physical abilities. His favorite target will be Miles Austin, who’s arriving from a Pro Bowl season last year. Dez Bryant will bring depth to the wide receiver corps. He was the Dallas Cowboys first round draft pick.

Jones emphasized the draft this year after being burned with such huge name free agents as Terrell Owens and Tank Johnson. Owens was suspended by th eEagles in 2005 after saying open, impolite statements about the management, and then taken out for the rest of the season. He was released the next season. Four days later, the Cowboys signed him. Following similar issues, it only took a few seasons for the Dallas Cowboys to release him as well. Johnson was signed by the Cowboys partway through an NFL suspension as a result of run-ins with the law. He wound up not showing up on the field until November 11, missing eight matches as a result of this suspension. As soon as he became a free agent, he abandoned the team to sign with the Bengals, although the Dallas Cowboys were taking a chance on him to start with. Jones now believes the draft is the greatest way for a team to achieve football wagering results.

“It’s expensive to step out here in free agency and grant these guys a third or second contract,” said the owner. “The draft is the best way to go.” Wade Phillips, the controversial head coach, returns yet again despite his several naysayers. Phillips has become tougher and more assertive with his coaching and has gained respect.

The Dallas Cowboys will open the preseason on August 8 vs the Bengals and then play the Oakland Raiders just 4 days later on August 12.

Could Raiders Be back?

Posted 17 Jul 2010 — by admin
Category Regular Season

NFL preseason probabilities in online sports betting may contain a sleeper value squad that many NFL gambling odds makers basically cannot believe as a legitimate contender for 2010 when you bet on the NFL.

There are also those who feel the Silver and Black could be a NFL gambling surprise, although NFL preseason probabilities could be long and heavy on the possibilities of the 2010 Oakland Raiders.

Oakland has not savored a winning season since their 2002 AFC title squad that lost the Super Bowl to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Since that time the Raiders have been totally terrible and one of the worst franchises in all of pro sports.

Far from the standards of the squad motto, which reads “Commitment to Excellence”, they’ve had a straight up history of 29-83 in that time span. Beyond that they have offered next to no board value and have carried pretty little appeal with gamblers. However, in 2010 that could be changing.

Last year Oakland finished 5-11 straight up and 8-8 against the spread while completing 3rd in the AFC West Division. Offense was the major difficulty for the Raiders as they finished 31st total for total offense in addition to scoring.

The Raiders have cut their losses with one of the biggest draft busts of all time, nevertheless, as quarterback JaMarcus Russell was released. Russell was the proverbial black cloud over the team that seemed to be becoming worse with each competition that he played.

Tom Cable returns for his third season in charge. He has delivered stability and the participants have bought into his style and system, although he has not been a success by any football gambling standards. It has been a rocky climb for Cable, who was close to terminated after accusations appeared about him abusing past women in his life. He also was accused of punching assistant coach Randy Hanson in the face and fracturing his jaw in August 2009. No Charges were never filed. Only a few months later, the allegations of physical abuse vs two ex-wives and an ex-girlfriend appeared.

Jason Campbell arrives from the Washington Redskins to take over as quarterback for the discredited Russell, who is looking at legal and drug related problems. Campbell is a veteran that has delivered a position of leadership to the locker room.

“We can do some good things together,” Campbell, who is happy to be from Washington, said. “They’re putting together a defense that has been outstanding. If we can help out offensively and turn some things around, anything is possible.” Campbell has been very helpful to pull the squad together as they will now go out on the town to socialize and come together. Through the years Campbell has been recognized for his poise in the game. He was named SEC Player of the Year and MVP of the SEC Championship Game during his college years. The Redskins weren’t a fantastic squad for him to excel as a quarterback, and that may well shift this year.

The defense is directed by all pro cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha and came on powerful down the stretch a year ago. Oakland appears to get better for 2010 after they finished seventh in the NFL for pass defense.

Gambling On Tampa Bay Buccaneers in NFL Preseason

Posted 16 Jul 2010 — by admin
Category Featured Articles

The Buccaneers are a big longshot in NFL betting Super Bowl odds.

They’re 20-1 long shots to win the NFC South and they’re a 125-1 NFL betting pick to win the Super Bowl this season. While the Bucs are long shots when it comes to gambling odds they could have some success against NFL preseason odds.

NFL preseason betting on the Bucs starts with their competition on August 14th at Miami. The Bucs could be liked in Week 2 as they host Kansas City, though they will be longshots in that match versus Miami. Their 3rd preseason competition is at home vs Jacksonville while they finish off at Houston.

Most teams feel they can make the playoffs in the NFL. Even Detroit should be enormously greater this season. The 1 squad that truly isn’t in the playoff conversation is Tampa Bay. The Bucs have lots of young competitors but they’ve got a ways to go. Quarterback Josh Freeman is in his second year, Arrelious Benn is in his rookie season and defensive tackle Gerald McCoy is also a rookie. In 2010, the growing pains are going to be obvious for the Bucs.

Josh Freeman was drafted in the course of the 2009 NFL Draft by the Bucs. He is their starter quarterback right now. He became the youngest quarterback in the Bucs history to start and claim his first competition. Thus far, he is showing promise for the squad.

McCoy chose to participate in the 2010 NFL combine. He was deemed 1 of the top contenders of the 2009 NFL Draft. The Buccaneers chose him as the 3rd pick overall in the NFL Draft. He hasn’t yet had the opportunity to prove himself professionally as a defensive tackle, but he has won many awards. For example, he won the 2005 National Defensive Player of the Year from the USA Today. After an incredible high school career, he was invited to play in the 2006 US Army All-American Bowl.

The running trio of Cadillac Williams, Derrick Ward and Earnest Graham is a quality 1, so the offense isn’t lacking talent. Freeman has a ways to go, so the passing game is vulnerable, but at least the Bucs have a quite excellent tight end in Kellen Winslow Jr. The wide receivers for Tampa Bay are quite suspect so it’ll be up to Benn to make a big difference if the Bucs are to have a downfield passing menace.

The defense is yet another scenario for Tampa Bay. The Bucs have lots of difficulties on the defensive end. Their secondary is awful and their linebackers are vulnerable. With the addition of McCoy the front line should be better though, and the Bucs have at least 1 excellent player in the defensive backfield in Aqib Talib.

The Bucs are not given much value in NFL preseason odds. Tampa Bay is provided virtually no opportunity to even get a .500 season. It would probably be a major step forward to win 6 matches. With a young squad that has a lot of growing left to do, head coach Raheem Morris has got his work cut out for him.

2010 NFL Preseason Gambling on New England Patriots

Posted 16 Jul 2010 — by admin
Category Featured Articles

In 2010 NFL lines betting at the online sportsbook, the New England Patriots are 12-1 to win the Super Bowl.

The New England Patriots are still the fave in NFL preseason lines to win the AFC East, although they play in a pretty challenging division with the New York Jets and Miami Dolphins. 2010 NFL preseason wagering odds list New England at even money to win the AFC East with the Jets the 2nd option at 6-5. Buffalo is a hopeless longshot while the Miami Dolphins are contenders as well at 4-1. The New England Patriots play an intriguing preseason beginning competition as they’ll host the defending Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints on August 12th. They travel to Atlanta a week later for a competition that can be seen on Fox television vs the Falcons. They’ll host the St Louis Rams in Week 3 while they travel to the New York Giants in Week 4.

The Patriots are arriving off a 10-6 season which was a letdown. New England didn’t win the division and had to play Baltimore in the Wild Card round. They were routed by the Ravens and plenty of flaws were exposed. The New England offense wasn’t overwhelming and quarterback Tom Brady actually made mistakes. The defense was poor for a lot of the season and defensive coordinator Dean Pees was let go.

The Patriots still have Brady and head coach Bill Belichick so they will get esteem in NFL preseason lines. New England has also wide receivers Randy Moss and Wes Welker who are a great team. Welker is healing faster than expected from an injury that he’s arriving off of. The team also added veteran Torry Holt.

Holt was a 6th overall draft selection in the 1999 NFL Draft by the Rams. Ever since he was part of the winning team at Super Bowl XXXIV, he has persistently reached at least 1,300 yards every season through 2005. Actually, he is the sole receiver in NFL history to achieve this in six sequential years. His streak was broken in 2006 as a result of injuries and other teammates that hindered the offense. In March of 2009, he was granted a release by the Rams. He was brought in with the Jacksonville Jaguars to a 3-year contract, however was let go from that agreement in February of this year. He was then signed to a 1-year, $1.7 million agreement with the New England Patriots.

Somehow the New England Patriots get the job done with Laurence Maroney, Fred Taylor, Kevin Faulk and Sammy Morris, although the running game is doubtful.

The New England defense is not what it once was. Vince Wilfork is still a power in the middle and Jerod Mayo is a pretty great linebacker. The New England Patriots are hoping that 2nd round pick Brandon Spikes can make a change right away. The secondary doesn’t make enough big plays and is average. Although Belichick doesn’t use him close to enough as he thinks he can always make a first down, the New England Patriots do have an amazing kicker in Stephen Gostkowski.

Carolina Panthers in the NFL Preseason Wagering

Posted 13 Jul 2010 — by admin
Category Featured Articles

A difficult NFL football pick to figure out with an NFL preseason wager is the Carolina Panthers.

Will this year’s Panthers be much better in live football odds or will they be another .500 squad? The Panthers are underdogs in NFL preseason probabilities to win the Super Bowl at 44-1.

Carolina is showed as 6-1 by the NFL preseason gambling numbers to win the NFC South behind New Orleans and Atlanta. The Panthers face 4 excellent teams, so they could have some value in the preseason. They open up at Baltimore on August 12th in an ESPN televised competition. Then they host the New York Jets in Week 2 and the Tennessee Titans in Week 3 before concluding at Pittsburgh in their last preseason competition.

Carolina has a great rushing duo of DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart, so they can be a exciting squad to follow. They didn’t play lots of defense though and it might not get any better without leading defensive end Julius Peppers who’s now in Chicago.

The Panthers will rely on Williams and Stewart just as before in 2010 but to succeed they will need quarterback Matt Moore to perform well. He did that late last year and Carolina was a risk. The Panthers have a fantastic receiver in Steve Smith but not lots of choices around him. If Moore can’t repeat the success he had last season then the Panthers may turn the offense over to Jimmy Clausen who they got in the NFL Draft. The Panthers have a great offensive line and two pretty excellent running backs so they’re still going to run the ball.

The Carolina defense is likely to have difficulty. They were not very good last year and they’ll be lacking their top player, linebacker Thomas Davis, who tore his ACL in June. Without Davis and Peppers, the Panthers are likely to have trouble stopping other teams. Davis was basically great last year and the Panthers basically can’t replace him.

The Panthers have enough expertise to compete in the NFC South nevertheless they almost certainly don’t have the defense to stop New Orleans and Atlanta which means they’re destined for 3rd place. The Panthers might have a little value in NFL preseason probabilities though, especially if Clausen plays well as the backup quarterback.

The Panthers team has only been around for fifteen years, being started and joining the NFL as an expansion squad in 1995. Thus far they’ve gathered a track record of 115-121, which is not the kind of track record your average NFL wagering lover is going to want to take a chance on. However, maybe this is a potentially excellent squad who requires a couple of years to find their stride, considering that they did manage to make an appearance in 2004′s Super Bowl.

Last season the Panthers started off with a 0-3 deficit. They managed to turn that around into an even 8-8 track record, but that’s still not the kind of performance that a squad is going to expect out of itself. It will rely on a better performance from its competitors, but there’s still a chance for the Panthers to become contenders in the 2010-11 NFL season.
